Balloon Sinuplasty™ is a new technology which allows opening of the sinus drainage pathways using a minimally invasive technique.
A guidewire is passed into the target sinus, then a balloon catheter is advanced over the guidewire.
The sinus balloon catheter is carefully positioned across the blocked sinus opening and gently inflated.
Catheter and guidewire are then removed, leaving an open sinus drainage pathway.
This technique is minimally invasive and in most cases does not require tissue or bone removal, Recovery and return to work is much quicker than with conventional surgery.
