Will there be bruising or swelling?

Any operation results in a degree of bruising and swelling, but this generally subsides within 10–14 days.

Do I have to have stitches?

For operations that require sutures, there is usually a combination of dissolving stitches (under the skin) and external sutures, which will need be removed after a week. These are very fine sutures which are unlikely to leave scars.

What happens if I don't like the result?

It can take up to 12 months to achieve full result, particularly in rhinoplasty surgery. Even in the most experienced hands there is a small chance that revision surgery will be required to achieve the optimal results. If you have any queries after surgery, please discuss these with Dr Ryan at your follow-up visits.
